Biography

I am a Board Certified Family Practice doc who came to medicine as a “third career.” When I entered med school, I knew I wanted to open an integrated medical practice—one that combined alternative medicine with Western allopathic medicine. My vision came out of my own personal healing that I had accomplished using alternative means—primarily through homeopathy, acupuncture and chiropractic medicine.

I graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, with a liberal arts degree and earned a Master of Arts from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. I did most of my pre-med work at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

My experiences before medical school prepared me for the wide range of services and care I provide as a doc. My work history included working in crisis centers, counseling clients and performing administrative duties. My last job before entering med school was as a state-wide executive director of a national health related non-profit; in this position, I lobbied in Lansing and Washington D.C. I entered med school having developed a compassionate, empathic ear, strong advocacy skills and a vision for networking that provide the framework for thinking “outside the box” when solving problems.

I attended Osteopathic College at Michigan State University and earned my D.O. degree in 1999. My internship and residency were completed at Ingham Regional Medical Center in East Lansing, Michigan, and Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan.
